Welcome to Happybeing.io Counseling & Coaching Services. By engaging with our mental health services & wellbeing Coaching, you agree to the following terms and conditions, designed to ensure professional standards, confidentiality, and mutual respect in all interactions.
Scope of Service
HappyBeing offers mental health & wellness counselling and Relationship guidance & Coaching, including but not limited to:
- Personal and group coaching, counselling, and guidance for managing marital issues, stress, anxiety, emotional health, and behavioural change
- Workshops, webinars, and programs conducted by trained experts
- Self-help resources, including assessments, techniques, interventions and educational content
- Professional Standards: All services provided are in line with the proven research recommended by wellbeing Coaches & Psychologists. Psychological intervention provided by our inhouse therapists and consultant therapists comply with the ethical principles set by the American Psychological Association (APA)— Our professionals uphold values of integrity, respect, and responsibility in every client interaction
- Service Limitations:
A. HappyBeing’s services are not a replacement for clinical therapy and diagnosing, psychiatric intervention, or medical treatment. Our professionals are certified to provide non-clinical support and lifestyle guidance.
B. Any recommendations or strategies suggested are intended to transform relationships, promote wellbeing and happiness.
C. As wellness service providers, we do not and cannot guarantee to deliver desired outcome since the dependency is multifactorial and we solely, cannot control it. We wont be held liable for not achieving desired results.
- Confidentiality and Privacy: Your privacy is paramount. Personal information shared with us during sessions or assessments is confidential. We take all reasonable steps to ensure your data's protection in accordance with legal requirements. Our Privacy Policy explains how HappyBeing collects, uses, and stores client data. This includes data shared through counselling sessions, assessments, and use of our platform. Client information will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent, except as required by law or in cases outlined in our confidentiality clause. By using our services, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy. We do not record or keep session data in any digital format, like audio or video. Most of the information is documented as handwritten notes and these can be accessed for a maximum of three months starting from the end of sessions.
- Limits to Confidentiality: Confidentiality may be breached under specific circumstances where there is a legal obligation to do so, such as in cases involving imminent harm to self or others, suspected abuse, or court orders
- Crisis Communication: In situations involving suicidal thoughts, domestic violence, or threats, please contact emergency services provided above as our organization is not equipped to provide immediate crisis intervention. You are also encouraged to contact your loved ones or the contacts you have provided to the organization as your support.
HappyBeing may attempt to assist by providing resources but is not liable for outcomes related to emergency situations.
Emergency and Crisis Protocol
Our services do not include crisis intervention or emergency care. In the event of an emergency, clients are advised to seek immediate assistance by calling emergency services or going to the nearest hospital. In case of any emergency situations, please contact following helplines:

- AASRA (http://www.aasra.info/): +91–22–27546669 is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week nationwide voluntary, professional and confidential services
- 1Life (https://1life.org.in/): +91 78930 78930, a 24/7 helpline for suicide prevention and crisis support
- Sneha India (http://www.snehaindia.org) is available 24/7 on the phone by calling +91 44 2464 0060. (Suicide, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, domestic violence)
- iCall (https://icallhelpline.org/): (Monday to Saturday from 10 am – 8 pm). It is a telephone and email based counselling service run by School of Human Ecology, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, that offers free telephone and email-based counseling services
Unbiased and Non-Judgmental Support
HappyBeing is committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and unbiased environment. Our counsellors and coaches are trained to offer a non-judgmental space where all clients can freely express their concerns and perspectives. Our professionals strive to approach each session with sensitivity, awareness, and inclusivity, ensuring that all services are free from discrimination and considerate of diverse perspectives.
Fees & Payment
- Payment Terms: Fees and payment terms are established at the onset of services and documented in the service agreement. Payment must be completed as per the agreed terms. Session fee needs to be paid in advance to book a session. Session fee will increase with rise in cost to provide services and clients will be informed in advance about the same. New fee slab will be applicable for the ongoing clients and new clients and they have the discretion to continue or discontinue their sessions. We strive to keep standard flat session fee for all our clients.
- Non-Payment: If payment obligations are not met, we reserve the right to discontinue services. However, no records will be withheld that are needed for emergency treatment.
- Fee Refund: All clients are entitled to no questions asked for a refund only after and for the 1st session. No refunds will be applicable after the 2nd session onwards if a client chooses to continue with sessions.
Rights and Responsibilities
- Client Rights: Clients have the right to be treated with dignity and respect and to receive services without discrimination. Clients may request clarification regarding services at any time.
- Client Responsibilities: Clients are expected to actively participate in their therapeutic journey and provide accurate information to the best of their ability including all the past and present medical history for planning of future interventions
- Responsibility for Claims: You agree to take responsibility for and protect Happy Being against any claims, liabilities, damages, or costs that may arise from your use of our services, a breach of these Terms, or actions that go against applicable laws.
- Modifications to Terms and Condition: We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, with updated versions accessible on our website. Continued engagement with our services following modifications indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
Terms and Conditions for Clients Working with a Counseling Psychologist
By engaging with a counseling psychologist at Happy Being, clients agree to the following terms:
- Role and Scope of Counseling: Counseling at Happy Being is provided by qualified professionals who offer psychological support and therapy for mental health concerns. Counseling is not a substitute for medical treatment and does not provide emergency care.
- Confidentiality: Sessions are confidential and protected by privacy laws. Information shared during therapy will not be disclosed without the client’s consent, except in cases of imminent risk to the client or others, as required by law.
- Therapeutic Boundaries: Clients acknowledge that the therapeutic relationship is professional and structured. The counseling psychologist will maintain ethical boundaries to ensure a safe and effective therapy environment.
- Responsibility and Participation: Therapy is a collaborative process. Clients are encouraged to actively participate in sessions and follow through on agreed actions between sessions for optimal therapeutic outcomes. Therapists won't be held liable or responsible for achieving or not achieving desired results by the clients.
- Emergency Protocols: In cases where clients express thoughts of self-harm, harm to others, or other crisis situations, the counselor may be required to intervene according to professional ethical standards and legal obligations.
- Termination and Referral: Counseling may end by mutual agreement when goals have been met or if the psychologist determines a referral to a specialist is in the client’s best interest.
- Nature of Therapy: Clients are provided with clear information regarding the purpose (to benefit the client by the goals decided mutually in the beginning of the session).
- Duration (depending on the issue and gravity of the client’s concern it is divided into three phases- initially case history talking, Understanding the concern, working through the treatment plan and lastly equipping the client with toolkit to prevent relapse) and termination of therapy.
- Termination of Therapy: Therapy may be terminated:
- When the goals are achieved as mutually decided by therapist and client.
- When the client’s needs are beyond the expertise of the therapist, or if there is a lack of engagement in therapy.
- Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the suspension or termination of services by either of the party with or without any explanation.
- Disruptive, inappropriate, or abusive behaviour.
- Attempting to pressure counsellors or coaches to provide diagnoses, prescriptions, or services beyond the scope of mental health coaching.
- Engaging in inappropriate communication with staff or other clients.
- Voluntary Participation: Participation in therapy or any service is entirely voluntary, and clients may withdraw from therapy at any time, with an understanding of any associated consequences.
- Dual Relationships: To maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, our professionals avoid relationships outside the therapeutic context with clients, including personal, financial, or social interactions.
- User Conduct: Users agree to respect the professional boundaries established during sessions and to refrain from.
Informed Consent
We work & consider the information provided by Client as the realiable source of information. Through Informed consent Client provides permission to Therapist to devise intervention plan as mutually decided during therapy and adhere to it. It also gives encouragment to open communication regarding any concerns or expectations.
Ethical Compliance
- Adherence to Ethics: Our therapists abide by the APA's Code of Conduct, which outlines strict guidelines against any exploitative, misleading, or harmful behaviors. This includes non-involvement in relationships that could impair professional judgment.
Use of Technology
- Digital Privacy: We utilize secure platforms for online sessions. However, clients are informed of potential privacy risks associated with digital communication.
- Electronic Consent: Consent for electronic services is obtained prior to the first session, ensuring clients understand the boundaries and risks of digital communication.
Terms and Conditions for Clients Working with a Coach
The term ‘coaching’ as here used covers life coaching, personal coaching, personal development, marital coaching, executive coaching and business coaching for clients and where applicable includes mentoring or supervision services provided for clients, coaches or others. Coaches are not Psychologists or mental health practitioners, and their coaching cannot be considered as psychological therapy or equivalent to that.
In the spirit of good practice, when you are purchasing coaching services from us, we understand that you have read and agreed to each statement below and that you wish to proceed.
Coaching Disclaimer
By engaging with a coach at Happy Being, clients agree to the following terms:
Role and Scope of Coaching:
Clients understand that coaching is a collaborative, client-centered process focused on self-improvement, goal-setting, and personal development. Clients understand that the coaching services provided from the Coach are not offered as a substitute for professional mental health care or medical care and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any mental health or medical conditions. Clients also understand that Coach is not acting as a mental health counsellor or a medical professional.
You understand that coaching is not a substitute for counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care or substance abuse treatment, and you will not use it in place of any form of therapy.
Legal Purposes:
Clients understand that coaching is currently an unregulated industry and that your Coach is not “licensed “by any authorized body to provide certifications or proof regarding information provided by you in the sessions.
Accountability:
Clients are responsible for implementing strategies, well-being, making decisions, and pursuing goals discussed during coaching sessions. While coaches provide guidance, clients remain accountable for their personal growth and outcomes.
Confidentiality:
All coaching sessions are confidential, and information shared will not be disclosed without the client’s written and verbal consent, except as required by law.
Termination:
Either the client or the coach may terminate the coaching relationship at any time if it is determined that coaching is not serving the client’s best interests.
Professional Boundaries:
Clients understand that coaching is a professional relationship. Coaches will maintain appropriate boundaries and operate within their professional code of conduct.
Responsibility and Liability
Clients understand that all comments and ideas offered by your Coach are solely for the purpose of aiding you in achieving the defined goals you create with your Coach. You have the ability to give your informed consent, and hereby give such consent to your coach to assist you in achieving such goals and understand that results are not guaranteed.
Client is liable to provide best and honest information to coaches for goal setting and better transformation journey.
Clients understand that to the extent our work together involves personal development, career or business, your Coach is not promising outcomes included but not limited to personal introspection, increased personal happiness, career progression, profitability and/or business success
Data Protection
You understand that your Coach will protect your information as confidential unless you state otherwise in writing. If you report child abuse, elder abuse or neglect or threaten to harm yourself or someone else, you understand that necessary actions may be taken and your confidentiality agreement may be limited in this capacity. Furthermore, if your Coach is ordered by a court to provide information or to testify, he will do so to the extent the law requires.
Data Security
You understand that the use of technology is not always secure and you accept the risks of confidentiality in the use of email, text, phone, WhatsApp, Skype and any other technology.
Waiver
You hereby release, waive, acquit and forever discharge your Coach, any agents, successors, assigns, personal representatives, executors, heirs and employees from every claim, suit action, demand or right to compensation for damages you may claim to have or that you may have arising out of acts or omissions by yourself or by your Coach as a result of the advice given by your Coach or otherwise resulting from the coaching relationship contemplated by this agreement.
You further declare and represent that no promise, inducement or agreement not expressed in this agreement has been made to you to sign this agreement. This agreement shall bind your heirs, executors, personal representatives, successors, assigns, and agents.
Terms & Conditions
The coaching schedule will be arranged between the Coach and the client and can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.
Our Coach will recommend the frequency of coaching sessions based on a professional assessment of the client’s requirements. This recommendation, or plan, is not binding and may be altered and adjusted throughout the coaching journey by mutual agreement, in accordance with the terms set out in this agreement.

Responsibilities
Coach will seek to enable the client to improve their quality of life or level of business success and to achieve their desired outcomes. Remarkable results can be achieved where clients follow a clear plan in a committed way. However, the client has sole responsibility for taking important decisions in their life or business. Coach has no liability for any loss incurred by any client, whether financial or otherwise, following commencement of coaching sessions, or for any perceived failure by the client, whether justified or otherwise, to achieve a material improvement in trauma recovery, quality of life, career or business or to achieve their desired outcomes or goals.
